UGC company Voldex acquires Roblox life sim Brookhaven

Voldex announced today that it has acquired Roblox’s life simulation title, Brookhaven. The UGC title, which was created by developer Wolfpaq in 2020, has grown in to one of Roblox’s most popular experiences, with its page boasting 60 billion visits. According to Voldex, the acquisition is possible thanks to its recent capital raise transactions, though the exact price of the acquisition wasn’t disclosed.

Brookhaven’s store page describes it as, “A place to hang out with like minded people and roleplay,” with servers where players can own homes, drive cars and generally explore the open world. Voldex acquired Brookhaven from Wolfpaq, with Alex Singer, Voldex CEO, saying of the acquisition: “This acquisition is transformational for Voldex. We’re honored that Wolfpaq has entrusted us with Brookhaven. We’re committed to being great stewards of the incredible world he has created and the vibrant community that makes it special.”

Voldex’s business is primarily in Roblox games, both through creation and acquisition. Last April, the company acquired Ultimate Football, one of Roblox’s top-grossing titles, and went on to flip it into NFL Universe Football in partnership with the NFL. Voldex also owns Roblox’s #1 driving game, called Driving Empire.

Raine Partners led the equity financing, with Makers Fund, QIA, MIT, Tirta Ventures and Lalotte Ventures participating. It also raised additional debt financing led by Shamrock Capital, with participation from Ares Management Credit funds and Cadma Capital Partners.

Todd Rosoff, Partner at Raine and head of gaming, said in a statement, “At Raine, we are always seeking opportunities to invest in category leaders with the potential to reshape industries. Voldex stands out as one of the strongest companies in its sector, with significant growth potential ahead. Our investment reflects our confidence in the gaming sector, and we’re excited to collaborate with Alex and the Voldex team to drive continued expansion and success.”
